Spoiler-Free Review: Daughter of Smoke and Bone

“Have you ever asked yourself, do monsters make war, or does war make monsters?”

Author: Laini Taylor

Karou has never been normal. Her blue hair is her natural color. she can speack several languages without even trying. . . oh, and she was raised in a trans-dimensional world by non-humans.

Karou does not know who she is or where she comes from all she knows is the missions her “father” Brimstone sends her on are important to him. Who or what is Karou? What is Brimstone up to? and what does any of this have to do with teeth?

I liked this story, until I didn’t. The romance was the weakest part for me. I liked the weird family drama with Brimstone and Karou much better than the romance plot, but once the love story is introduced it takes over the plot.

I can see the appeal for this story from the twilight fans out there. but this was not for me.
