Spoiler-Free Review: The Time Garden

“The Natterjack and the garden were waiting. They were waiting for more children. They didn’t care how long they waited. They had all the time in the world.”

Author: Edward Eager

Roger, Ann, Eliza and the now girl-crazy Jack, find themselves shipping off to a relative’s house for the summer while their parents take care of some business in England. The children soon learn that the thyme in the garden lets them travel through time.

Time travel shenanigans ensue. They even meet up with some other children who have been having their own magical adventures. . . by a lake.

Edward Eager was the first author I feel in love with. I read everything the man wrote. This series was the best. They deserve their place as children’s classics. I highly recommend all these books to readers of all ages.
